at first i couldn't feel this joint because i'm a fan of classical music and of mozart and didn't like his composition being sampled but the song grew on me.

R.A., El-P, Imm Tech, Diabolic.. I can give you that they're underground (tho some of the most mainstream (popularity wise, not musically) underground names you'll find) but to say that KRS is underground just shows that you know nothing about the history of the art you claim to love.. keep wearing your backpack with pride whilst everyone looks n thinks you're a toy |

@king397 | 21 September 13 |
so their popularity makes them underground mainstream? ![]() |

Yeah.. essentially.. immortal technique is probably the most successful independent mc of all time.. and the fact none of the people you listed are on major labels doesn't change the fact that pretty much anyone with a genuine interest in hip hop knows who they are.. you're still a muppet for classing krs1 as underground too

i don't care much about whether a rapper is underground or not than i care about the music itself. U admitted it urself that I.T is underground musically but why do u blame him for having better marketing skills? Should he follow a marketing strategy doomed for failure so that he remain underground popularity-wise? And krs1? Oh, when u talk about underground krs1 is atleast worthy of a mention. He didn't sell out hip hop to be on tv. That's a fact. and like i said, i care about the music more than the underground tag. The reason why i like 90's rap.

I agree that the music is most important.. in that regard you've got some excellent taste, if not a little predictable.. but I still wouldn't personally class them as underground.. tho I suppose I would if I was to differentiate between underground and independent.. also.. Imm tech wasn't better at marketing.. he just did what no other relatively successful underground mc had done and completely self financed his projects.. nobody but him could lay claim to any of his money, which is why he was so successful.. dudes on mtv selling 10x as many albums would only see 10percent of the paper he did |
