No sorry thats wrong. Its white dwarf star M101 in the 'pinwheel' galaxy. It was only discovered in August this year and scientists immediately initiated 'operating override procedures' for the Hubble Space Telescope and have booted off all the other bods to have a better look!

o love the abell galaxy cluster group, not even a square centimetre in the whole night sky yet has thousands of galaxies like our milkyway it just one snap :)

theres nothing to see in the sky in england all the good stuff is in the southern hemisphere , wasted s**t load of money on a telescope

I still have one that I got as a kid but its broken , I looked at a few but it is a lot for a good one and the british weather doesn't really justify the outlay. The hubble pictures on Nasa website are awesome though!

you should check out http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/archivepix.html there is a picture every day from the last 10 years or so, keep you occupied for hours

Also many of the big terestrial telescopes have live observation feeds so you can log on and look at whatever they happen to be pointing at, some even allow you to book online observation time where you get to choose where to point it!

The comet 'Elenin' that some folks are all worked up about was found in this way, by a russian using a scope in Mexico and only this week an english schoolgirl had a comet she spotted by this method, whilst doing a school project, named after her!

Not sure off hand but i'm sure google will tell you! I remember 'The Sky at Night' TV show gave a website once, so try there. Don't know the shows web address but think can get it through the BBC website!
