I'm drafting a letter of complaint to my toaster manufacturer as it isn't working properly..... But I can't find the right group of letters to form a word that would correctly describe the mechanical, pop up, sound that a toaster makes.... A little help? |

Look I'm sorry, but there's a build up to the spang, clang or pling, I think you'll find.

Yes, theres that slight ticking noise with the expansion of the cage. Thats before the rattly screech of metal to metal as the cage is forced upwards under load.

the noise my toaster makes is either a large crackle bang from the knife falling into it, or a huge bang when i throw it on the floor and swear as i light the gas grill

No two toasters make exactly the same noise. A car exhaust is a wind instrument. Air is blown through it and it makes a noise. The slightest difference makes no two the same. Same with a toaster, the binding surfaces, the form of the parts, the spring, all working together to make a unique sound.

@ 0.0 - 21.12.13 - 10:14pm if a toaster popups up in a kitchen an no one is around to hear it does it make a noise? ![]() Yes. Physically, everything still happens the same, including the soundwaves. Just because there is no device to record it, organic, electronic or otherwise, does not mean those physical soundwaves were not there. You only have to look at the toaster, and observe that it activated, to know those soundwaves were produced. |
