Documentary on channel 4 tonight 10pm (uk) follows stinson hunter and his associates who pose as children on social networking sites to draw out paedophiles. Some say this is trapping them and others agree it's a good way to fish out paedophiles that may not be known to police. Your views? ![]() |

trap them, i am fine with it... rather let an adult catch them before a child is harmed.

I agree, the man in question tells men who approach him he's a 11,12,13 year old girl and is that okay and gives them the choice to say no and cut contact but some still want to talk to what they think is a child and meet, Although they meet up with a police officer.

That's no paedophle hunting, it is just a public shaming sting. What's worse, these offenders often end up back on the streets in a short time so they can do it all over again. |

@ ladibud - 1.10.14 - 11:01am why do they end up on the streets again Mok? Because they only attempted. But even if they ended up getting caught having sex with a minor, the Judges are often lenient with the ped*phile. |

If there are real police involved in it, I don't see the problem? |

ok, so it is the courts fault, the judicial system at fault, not what they are doing.

@ ladibud - 1.10.14 - 11:06am ok, so it is the courts fault, the judicial system at fault, not what they are doing. Basically, they get punished for getting caught. Then they get psychological counseling in prison that tells them there is nothing wrong with their desires and it is not their fault. |

defo a fault of the judicial system. i really wish every child abuser (note not paedofile) or attempted child abuser should be locked up for life.

This is why I didn't become a uniformed officer, I couldn't guarantee myself that I wouldn't shoot a paedophle in the head.

And they just look like average joes. Nothin about them stands out... they dont have s paedofiley face like u expect. Its a good way to flush them out but no doubt fraught with danger. |

I watched one of those programmes ,one actress who posed as a fourteen yrs old arranged for them to call when her parents were out ,they were supposed to arrive at different times ,but couldn't contain themselves and were arriving early and circling the place like vultures ...all ordinary type men too . I do wonder if they were not given the opportunity on line to hook up what they would do with their sickening urges . |

Don't know why we just don't execute p*dos, it'd sort the problem but I'm sure the human rights idiots would moan about it as usual.

@ kelypso - 1.10.14 - 11:05am If there are real police involved in it, I don't see the problem? In 1 instance the man turned up to meet what he thought was a 13 year old girl with wine and cigarettes. I stand by what I say it's right to drag these creatures out the woodwork. |

@ dodgey - 1.10.14 - 11:54am Seen a few of Stinson hunter YouTube videos, he does a good job at naming and shaming people, he catches all sorts of people . There's an argument that he is naming and shaming them in the media before the police have charged the person. |
