I think that's what it's called. Anyway, its a camera down the throat. Has anyone had it done, or is it everyone but me who's had one? Would be interested to hear your experiences please. |

Yes, well I'm glad it's not 'elsewhere' but I'm still dreading it. I'm not usually a coward, but well, this time I am.

i dont like anything to do with hospitals just yesterday having blood taken the nurse said lie down you look like ur going faint ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() NHS website can ease your mind of some worries of such procedures re yours: you'll usually be given an injection of sedatives into your arm. This will make you feel very drowsy so that you'll be mostly unaware of the procedure and will probably have no memory of it. id like that bit ![]() |

Never mind 'usually', I'm going to insist on a sedative. lol

if you mean colonoscopy ive had three isnt pleasant but they inject a liquid in your hand if your not that relaxed they might give you a drink of this banana tasting stuff to numb your throat, when the pipe is going down your throat just relax and try not to sw*llow it doesnt take long ![]() |

They've got two hopes of shoving a camera down my throat. Unless I'm ill, obviously. But even then, sounds proper dodgy to me. I mean, what if something falls off? And you end up with a camera lens stuck in your lung, or they tear that little valve that stops you choking to death painfully on your own saliva? I mean, tiny little soft fish bones cause havoc in there, can you imagine that thing getting stuck? Nah mate, would I be letting them use me for their latest toys.. ![]() |

they watch it all on a screen , they will know if something falls off not alot to fall off anyway just a tube with light and lens

What good is seeing it gonna do?! ''Ooh look, the tiny lens just got sucked into the lung there, did you see that?'' |

Cost cutting.. have you seen the NHS lately? This'll probably get done in a tent in the car park. Two hopes of it being sterile. Wanna hope you get a doctor who can read the instructions. Or Google it and give them some pointers. |

I had one many years ago (also for a suspected ulcer). I went under general anaesthetic though (perhaps different these days). Didn't feel a thing but my throat was really raw and tender for a couple of days afterwards. So nothing to worry about.
