Basically ,they hiked the price of a drug called Daraprim from 13.50 dollars to 750 ..per pill defending it on the basis they have to make a profit ...it's used to treat a dangerous parasitic illness

He has done it with other drugs ,Inc one called Thiola ...he's a hedge fund manager ... Guess everything is up for grabs these days .. On the back of widespread criticism and a twitter roasting he's done a turnaround ,but I'll bet it doesn't go back to near the original price ... |

Kudos bambi, I almost did this topic yesterday. Turing Pharmaceuticals bought the marketing rights to a 64yr old drug and almost overnight raised it's price from  13.50 per tablet, to 750 per tablet. The drug is used to treat toxoplasmosis, a condition that attacks people with compromised immune systems, such as AIDS and cancer petients. It costs about 1 per tablet to produce.

There needs to be a global agreement to not treat this guy in any hospital for any condition or illness he may get in the future. Any hospital or doctor aiding him should be receive a massive fine. What an ABSOLUTE monster . Then again thats capitalism folks! He's not alone though,many big pharma companies make extortionate profits from illness and disease.
