@ bambi99 - 11.12.15 - 11:36pm I'm not sure newt ....the law seems to be aimed at providers .... It is illegal. Just found this: 'Asda to prosecute under-18s who try to buy alcohol' ''Any under-18 found attempting to buy drink at an Asda store will be reported to the police. The company says its will urge officers to take the offender to court. If they refuse, Asda says it will consider bringing a private prosecution. The chance of an under-age drinker being punished for trying to buy alcohol was only one in 300,000 last year, when nearly 3million offences resulted in ten prosecutions.'' http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-518610/Asda-prosecute-18s-try-buy-alcohol.html |

I was shopping one day and the cashier had scanned quite a lot of shopping when she asked for ID. I said I was paying on the card. She said it wasn't suitable ID. I said I couldn't pay for my shopping then, because I didn't have cash.. She said payment wasn't the problem, I just couldn't use my visa card for ID. So I told her it doesn't work like that. ''I have to be 18 to hold the card. Either you believe i'm 18 or you don't''. She insisted she couldn't serve the alcohol. So I told her i'm not prepared to have my card used by someone who isn't accepting its my card - and I walked away, leaving her with a ton of shopping in front of her. A manager had homed in on us halfway through the issue, and she stopped me on my way out to ask if we could sort something out. The cashier was promptly bumped into an early tea break and I made off with my shopping - all of it. |

Kids can have their own pre pay credit cards, and you can allow your credit card to be used by someone else. |
