On days off without the nipper i drink, so no driving. I didn't bother with a bike until i moved to this flat. My walking distance then was up to an hour really, it was usually 2-3 miles to go to the usual places, but 5 didn't bother me. Here and it's a good 3 miles to go to the usual places, so i use the bike. If i'm likely to need to stash the bike, i'll take the shopper, as i can lock that pretty much anywhere. I hardly use the car, i cycle to work, that's about 2 miles. I'd drive rather than walk though, mainly because i do 12hr shifts. |

Have you got a little basket on your bike for putting your groceries in? |

If someone says something is within walking distance, it's 10-15 min walk away, otherwise it's a leisurely stroll...

Don't get me wrong, I love walking and can easily clock up 10-25kms... But if it's specified ''walking distance'' well... I'm not spending more than 10-15mins on that s**t...

Where I am it's two miles to anywhere so that's mine, before it used to be a mile or to the shop and back again.

Two miles to the shops unless I'm in Dunstable then it's more like 5 miles to walk to Luton
