cruises don't take rough routes, mind numbing boredom will be a bigger threat.

Portsmouth to santander goes across the bay of bisque which can be very rough

Southampton to Newyork in five days on a ship so big it's a city big enough for 3000 people... 12 decks, Five resturants, a theatre, a night club, a lounge, six bars, a casino, a huge shopping mall, two swimming pools, a climbing wall, your room with a door to your own balcony. Seems ok

There's an old lady who lives on a cruise ship because it's cheaper than an old people's home. She said.., She gets meals delivered to her room, she gets to visit lots of nice places, the on board medical team look after her if she got ill. She never gets lonely, and when she passes away they chuck her over the side so there's no funeral costs.

Been on one cruise. Was ok. Late nights and early mornings. Had a weeks holiday in a hotel before the week long cruise and wish we had done the week relaxing in the hotel after the cruise instead.

I haven't, and for some reason cruises seem grotty to me. I don't know if it's just the thought of being stuck out there with other peoples bad habits. lol

Depends what cruise it is. But annoying having to dress up smart every night, 2nd night was the captains c0cktails night and have to dress very smart, and photographers taking your photo every 5 minutes, lots of different restaurants, the main one u get seated with other couples and most people do cruises often and all they talk about is what other ships theyve been on, the excursions start early so I always had a hangover in the morning which was annoying. The cabins are ok, but not good for relaxing in , even what we had which was a mid range one wasnt comfortable and cramped when getting ready for the evening, wife wanted to try it, it wasnt for me , we split not long after that cruise. One good thing about them is customer service is good, u dont need to carry any cash, all the shops etc just swipe your room card which is linked to a credit card .

U get ripped off on the excursions as well. They do really random things if u stay on the ship during the day, computer courses, ice sculpture courses etc, the days at sea we had i just went in the bars or at the swimming pools.

as teenagers a few of us robbed some MASSIVE blocks of polystyrene from a concrete company yard ,we chucked them into the river and sailed all the way to stockport o then the got worried and abandoned ship when the river appeared to descend into the bowels of hell
