The dad would've had a tough time getting suitable access to the lad, to be aware of such abuse, if the mother wouldn't allow it. Shadow's post you two facepalmed is sadly a pretty accurate reflection of the legal viewpoint. Social services say their interest is that of the child - neither parent - but in practice if a child lives with their mother then the father is effectively restrained by all parties involved. |

So we're clutching at straws over whether he had any concern or not, on whatever magnitude. And personally, i think he does look a little ignorant if he really had no idea his own kid was in poor health given that he was in a life-threatening state. |
