View Following Urban Dictionary DEFINITION Friend Of Convenience: . - Someone who treats you only as a ''friend'' when it is convenient for them. , ; ; The type of friend who only calls when they need (money, help, support, advice, etc.) but are never there to help orgive it back to you. . . They are the type of friend who will want to hang out with you when they are bored and have nothing else to do and have nobody else to hang out with. But, as soon as another opportunity arrives they will leave and not talk to you until they need you again. Typically a veryself-centered type of person who only truly cares about themselves. |

Im Definitely a friend of convenience to some , i think their brains got a little fu*ked with old age because they never were like that before. . Thankfully i dont return the favour,  if their still a friend there hopefully going to remain such Allways not just when it's convient for me.

I'm not, I don't really bother with anyone or make plans so if I happen to bump into someone then we'll probably do something. I never ring people or text them and people know I keep to myself so they don't bother me either. So if you're a friend and lucky to see me some time we'll maybe hang out for a bit. |

If you think you're just of convenience and they ask you to do them a favour then ask for one back after or if you think they just want to hang out cause they're bored then do the same back, treat them like they treat you. They'll then realise how they treat you. Bit of give and take. |

Its kinda a give and take...cause when I'm ready to talk I call her, when she ready to rant...I'm her listening ears..but she rant more than I do, I don't even called her a friend but associate cause she dont kno what friend means. |

I had a friend once who I was her friend of convenience. Shes call, want to hang out and depended on my emotional support but the moment she had a guy, Id get pushed aside. Then that goes sour and she calls for me again, always building her up when I guy has abashed her to pieces. I knew she needed my support though, bebsyse she had self esteem issues so Id try my best. Then one time I needed her to just find out some infor for me and that was it, end of the world for her. Then I realized eh, Im a great as s friend- doesnt mean ppl will be that for me so I let her go. Its been about 6 years now. Wed been friends from ages 12 to 26 or so. |

A fair-weather friend. Years ago I had a friend like this. We would meet up and in all fairness have a few beers and a good laugh. He always wanted to borrow money though. I refused to loan him some one time and that seemed to be the end of our friendship.
