Thanks everyone. Feeling pretty sh*tty today. I feel like I can't remember her and have no memories. She has been suffering from Parkinsons with Lewies body dementia for many years and the awful illness completely stripped her of who she used to be. She's been unable to sw*llow for the past month or so, as the part of her brain that remembered how to do so was destroyed by the disease. She was hospitalised and given fluids a couple of times but she wasn't getting better and we knew the end was coming. I feel like the illness has taken my memories too. I hope it's just the grief and that I will be able to have solid memories again. I can remember all she did for me, I can remember that she was (was, I hate that!) there for me through so much, but i cant remember any specific moments right now and it's killing me. |
