They're having the predictable bunting clad street party in the village and I noticed this morning that they've got posters up in town advertising the 'Platinum Party in the Park', which is basically an outdoor concert featuring local bands. Which might sound like they've made some kind of an effort for it but in fact they hold a 'Party in the Park' there every year and have done for at least the last 15yrs, they've just commandeered it for the jubilee this year.
