Beetroot Yuk  my gran used to force feed me ox tounge and beetroot butties when I was a kid, I hated them.

I love pickled beetroot. Especially the stuff my mum makes, store bought stuff just doesn't come close to hers. She doesn't make it as often as she used to nowadays though as she's getting on a bit and it's a proper ballache thing to do but she still sends me a jar or 2 whenever she makes a batch.

I've never been the biggest fan of beets because Americans don't know what to do with them except for boiling the heck out of them. Some day I'll have to search for a traditional borscht recipe and give that a try.

@ mikeymk - 26.08.22 - 03:37pm The question is.. Does beetroot belong on pizza? It's not unheard of. I believe it's most commonly offered as a topping on a 'white pizza'. I've seen a supermarket pizza with a beetroot base(which I presume was just a normal base but with beetroot in it  )

I tried borscht once, it's bloody awful stuff. |
