I wouldn't exactly say monarchy is bad. Maybe the monarch is bad or plunders national coffers, in which case the Royal establishment may decide to replace him with another. But calling for a complete overhaul of the monarchy? That's going too far. Personally I admire the kingdom of Swaziland for being the last to retain a truly African system.

We also have monarchs but they've been practically eclipsed and reduced to mere ceremonial figures, except on very insignificant customary powers. Democracy is not inherently better than absolute monarchy. It depends on the actual leaders in power.

@kimjongl constitutional monarchy is already a form of westernisation. What we Africans should fight for is to regain our truly African systems and institutions and minimise Europeanisation as much as possible.
