Juan Mendez, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Torture and Cruel, Inhuman and Degrading Treatment or Punishment, has repeatedly requested and been denied a private meeting with Manning to assess his conditions.

i support this completely, if obama can get the nobel peace prize for doing very little to deserve it, or even henry kissenger, this man is well deseving of it..

I thought he is only accused of leaking the info so it's only alleged he did, so unless he admits he did it then how can he be nominated for something that he may or may not have credit for?

And by nominating him before a trial even started now Bradley manning have bug*er all of any chance of getting off, free Bradley manning? It's more like saying to the us government lock him up for good he's our man

Well maybe manning is following in the footsteps of the journalist who worked on the water gate case. Any way was not the noble peace prize funded by an explosives maker.

Very true information in the wrong hands can be a bad thing but a cover up is another matter as has been seen in the uk with the expenses claims of our national politicians.

he is a cowered, he is a traitor. his actions potentally put others in danger. he doesnt deserve it. and thats all i have to say on the matter

Nobel invented dynamite? He thought that if he created a powerful enough explosive it would end war for good. Meanwhile.. mankind has found ways to make really, really big explosions.
