these weren't your average protesters. they were armed with guns and pangas and had killed before in these past few days including killing police and guards.

Our frontline police have no guns on their person and get hauled over the coals if they peppers pray someone. But sure as s**t if a mob start shooting at them then the mob will get shot back

The police had a right to kill in self defence, however 30 miners are now dead, I am sure that they could of used other weaponry such as traquilizer guns/gas to minimize the fatality. Killing is a last resort. I am suprised that the cops were unprepared for the 4 day strike which they had time to prepare for. The cops on the video never have proper riot gear on.

However. I did notice that some cops tried to minimize the fatality by spraying bullets on the floor infront of the miners. The miners were there in their hundreds.

I would have bagged the lot of them.

its been coming for years now, almost every protest we have ends in a riot and the cops are always wrong when they act. the protestors thought they are above the law, just too bad it had to come to this to show them otherwise.

sad that lives were lost, but it is high time that the police may protect themselves from this kinda thing.

thats my point ladi. our cops can be targeted and kill but when they retaliate they are the wrong. the worse part for me is that the value of life for criminals is higher than the cops in our countries eyes. Everyone wants to probe the shootings and forget how many have already been killed leading up to today.
