Wow, you believe in a god that created the universe and everything in it and a god that has some super important message for the human race that he also created but who left no way of communicating that message except copies of copies of copies of anecdotal evidence given in a dead language of events that occured centuries before and translated by a few exceptionally clever ppl who could read and you question the shape of a piece or pieces of wood? are you sure youre questioning the right thing

He never died on the cross , god tricked the people he wanted to follow him into believing Jesus died , he deceived them , for what purpose i have no idea .

jesus could see all possible futures, for the best of all possible worlds to be born he saw that he had to 'die' and be 'reborn' in the way that he supposedly did.

i was actually readin up on this a bit today, it does seem probable that He was crucified on a 'cross' a pole with a beam thru it due to the Roman influences.

Normaly people would be put up on a cross and stay there for 7 days without food or water before they die, but, jesus hardly spent 24hrs before he was pr*nounced dead. Compare the time then you will get your answer.

If all the bits of wood that are claimed to be genuine pieces of the 'one true cross' were put back together, it would mean that the cross would have been over 200ft long and weighed in at several tons. ![]() |

Compare the time then you will get your answer. The length of time required to reach death could range from hours to days depending on method, the victim's health, and the environment. Death could result from any combination of causes, including blood loss resulting in hypovolemic shock, sepsis following infection due to the wounds caused by the nails or by the scourging that sometimes preceded the crucifixion, or eventual dehydration. |

A theory attributed to Pierre Barbet holds that, when the whole body weight was supported by the stretched arms, the typical cause of death was asphyxiation.(40) He conjectured that the condemned would have severe difficulty inhaling, due to hyper-expansion of the chest muscles and lungs. The condemned would therefore have to draw himself up by his arms, leading to exhaustion, or have his feet supported by tying or by a wood block.
