You know sometimes I wonder if we really appreciate the miracle that happened. And as an atheist I don't use the word miracle lightly. I see people on this site often commemorate their WW2 heroes, even though they weren't even there, and it means nothing to me, but I can respect their feelings and history. Apartheid and the subsequent freedom we gained was real for me, I was there. It's a different time now, with new challenges, but I think it's OK on this 20th year of our freedom to remember and reflect while still challenging and holding to account those now in power.
