For society to function total freedom is impossible. Freedom can be tangibly measured so is objective but what you may consider freedom is subjective.

Free like Peter Pan. But even he wasn't free, he was bound to being a child or he would lose his power to fly. So maybe free like the pigmeis, or like the cavemen from the beginning of humanity. Any form of socialising means bounding the freedom, even the most rudimentary ones. Living in a group means having a ruler and depending on one another. Freedom also means the right to make choices in life. |

I think freedom means knowing everything or no curiosity. If you know everything, you have no curiosity. If you have no curiosity, you're free from everything. As long as you don't know everything, you're not free. As long as you have curiosity, you're not free.

@ bozzalad - 8.05.14 - 11:01am islam denies pretty much all freedom. islam, christianity / beliefs, politics, diversity, equality, social and culture divides and also patrioism and wealth etc....all contributes to strangulation of freedom in society. to be totally free is to be totally without any of these things wrapped round your neck. alas life dictates we are born into a world of rules, estrangement and so much division. until all that is abolished and not replaced by anything, none of us will ever be truly free. |
