This is a place to talk about your dreams and nightmares, ones you remember well maybe. Has anyone had vivid dreams before? has anyone tried lucid dreaming? Anyone who's dreams came true? do any of you interpret dreams? |

I have a dream book which I use periodically to interpret strange or unusual dreams. I also love dream catchers. Have them in all sizes and colours. ![]() |

I really don't understand the whole dream interpretation thing. Yes to the lucid thing. Happens sometimes, without my control. |

Lucky, my mom had a book like that Russia. And that's vivid dreaming, birdy. As for lucid dreaming, how to is by laying very still in your bed and ignoring all urges till you convince your body that your mind is asleep. Then you will enter sleep paralysis, it's when you won't be able to move your body. It's important not to freak out. And then you're in your dreams. Another name for this is conscious dreaming. |

Most nights I dream about myself as superman. Also I play out my own 'Chronicle' in my head.

Unfortunately I'm not patient enough but my other half has come to master this. He says he starts by jumping in his dream to make sure he's well asleep before beginning his journey

I thought lucid dreaming is just when you are aware that you're dreaming. Cause that happens to me, sometimes half way through a dream, I realise I'm dreaming, and am then able to choose better what I want to do. I don't make myself do it though, it just happens. Sometimes as soon as I become aware I'm dreaming, I start to wake, but I can stop myself from waking, and can also force myself to wake, if the dream is bad and I can't gain control. Waking myself is more difficult though. I've heard about people basically creating their whole dream in a lucid state, but I can only do with what's already there. |

That sounds more like an oobe. I could be mistaken though. |

I've written out a few dream topics in gen forum. Some of them were very detailed, I guess a lot off dreams are though. It's more about having the capacity to recall it in the first place.

Lucid dreaming is that but with the intention of doing it to begin with and fully controlling your dreams.

No, not necessarily. Perhaps I shouldn't have said 'I thought'.

Well yes, like when you said you can wake up when they turn bad but the idea is controlling them before them. Ofc it also depends on what stage you're on, as long as you don't try to force yourself awake at the beginning with the sleep paralysis in motion. Can cause future damage. I've only had vidid dreams myself where it feels like reality even the touch and smell etc.

Guess television helps shape my dreams. Sometimes I dream about creating my own zombie horde terrorising my local mall-probably from Walking Dead, Zombieland, Resident Evil and Warm Bodies. Other times I dream about an alien invasion-perhaps from Independence Day, Cloverfield, Battle Los Angeles and Mass Effect.
