![]() Sunnah Acts to do on Jumuah: 1. Take a bath It is compulsory to take bath on Friday as Narrated Abu Said Al-Khudri that The Prophet (pbuh) said, Ghusl (taking a bath) on Friday is compulsory for every Muslim reaching the age of p*berty. (Bukhari) 2. Putting on ones best cloth and Using Perfume Ibn Majah Book 5, Hadith 1151 It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Prophet (pbuh) said: Whoever takes a bath on a Friday and does it well, and purifies himself and does it well, and puts on his best clothes, and puts on whatever Allah decrees for him of the perfume of his family, then comes to the mosque and does not engage in idle talk or separate (pushing between) two people; he will be forgiven for (his sins) between that day and the previous Friday. 3. Going early and Walking to the Mosque(its Sunnah) The Prophet (pbuh) say: Whoever takes a bath on Friday, and bathes completely, and goes early, arriving early,* and walks and does not ride (to the mosque), and sits close to the Imam and listens to him, and does not engage in idle talk; for every step he takes he will have the reward of one year, the reward of a years fasting and praying (at night).(Ibn Majah) 4. Dont jump over the shoulders of the Musallies in order to get to the front. The Prophet (pbuh) said: Whoever takes a bath on a Friday and does it well, and purifies himself and does it well, and puts on his best clothes, and puts on whatever Allah decrees for him of the perfume of his family, then comes to the mosque and does not engage in idle talk or separate (pushing between) two people; he will be forgiven for (his sins) between that day and the previous Friday.(Ibn Majah) 5. Sit close to the Imam As mentioned in the hadith above (number 3).(Ibn Majah ,Book 5 hadith 1140) |

![]() 6. Reading Suratul Kahf From Abu Saeed al-Khudri, who said: Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the night of Jumuah, will have a light that will stretch between him and the Ancient House (the Kabah).(Narrated by al-Daarimi, 3407. This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami , 6471) 7. Making a lot of Dua There is such an hour on Friday that if any Muslim makes dua (Supplication) in it, his dua will definitely be accepted(In Between Asr Magrib). (Bukhari, Muslim) There are two opinions from our scholars concerming this hour: 1) It lasts from after Asr until the sun sets or 2) from the time when the imaam sits on the minbar to deliver the khutbah on Friday until he finishes the prayer. Duaa at either of these times is deserving of being answered Wallah alam 8. Sending Salawaat to the Prophet(PBUH) In shaa Allah lets practice this Sunnah. Remember also to share with friends and family Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) says: Whoever revives an aspect of my Sunnah that is forgotten after my death, he will have a reward equivalent to that of the people who follow him, without it detracting in the least from their reward. Imam al-Nawawi - may Allah have mercy on him - summarized the disagreement over the obligation of Friday ablution in his explanation of Muslim 6/133, saying: The scholars differed over Friday ablution. Its obligation was reported from a group of the Salaf, who reported it from some of the Companions, and Ibn al-Mundhir reported it from Malik, and al-Khattabi reported it from al-Hasan al-Basri and Malik. -- The majority of scholars from the Salaf and Khalaf and the jurists of the regions held that it is a recommended Sunnah and not obligatory. Al-Qadi said: This is what is known from the school of Malik and his companions. Those who made it obligatory cited the apparent meanings of these hadiths, and the majority cited authentic hadiths, including the hadith of the man who entered while Umar ibn al-Khattab was delivering the sermon, and he left the ablution, which was mentioned by Muslim. This man is Uthman ibn Affan, and it was explained in the other narration. The evidence is that Uthman did it and Umar and those present at Friday prayers approved of it, and they are the people of authority and contract. If it were obligatory, he would not have left it and they would have made it obligatory. -- Including: His saying, may Allah bless him and grant him peace: Whoever performs ablution, then that is good and well, and whoever performs a ritual bath, then the ritual bath is better. A good hadith in the famous Sunan, and it contains evidence that it is not obligatory. |
