Indycar just isn't as safe as it could be. It was an awful accident though, easily one of the worst i have ever seen because of the huge speed involved

Open wheelers on ovals are stupid  They are simply too fast for the circuits if something goes wrong you have no protection. Although this chassis is aging and the whole series needs a safety revamp. He did test the 2012 chassis though that has a different rear profile to try and prevent launching when rammed like what happened in the race

those cars are to low to the ground, any movement of the tarmac and they go right up into the air, the footage shows it more than ever. but its the life the drivers chose

On those ovals you don't slow up so your hitting top speed all around almost for lap after lap. If you hit something in the road your fked. Just look how Senna died. That wasn't even as big as a couple of Indy Cars

Senna's accident was pure freak. From possibly the steering column breaking all the way through to the suspension arm penetrating his helmet at the perfect angle to kill him. As has been said though with these cars and that circuit the only type of accident you are gonna have is a high speed high energy one. Whereas in F1 the cars are considerably quicker but rarely run at sustained v max speeds

i havnt seen the crash but i used 2 watch indy alot in the days just after mansell switched 2 indy and i watched greg moore get killed. Also watched dan wheldon race alot. Yes the drivers know what risk they are taking but its awful when it happens especially infront of the world. My condolences 2 his family and R.I.P. Dan
