make your active root partition about 250MB or 300MB, Also increase your /usr partition to some GBs say 4GB, depends on packages you 'll install. Your error would have been caused by insufficient disk space on /usr partition.

Surely u mean fedora? I forget with so many distro floating around! I wud suggest getting a more user friendly distro like pclinuxos as the partitions is just one small hurdle compared to the 'challenges' u will face with linux such as codec support and installing additional software this can be uneasy on new users and ubuntu / suse often don't package drivers for ati and nvidia display cards but are fairly easy to install shud u have an internet connection gud luck!

@ oetinger - 21.02.10 - 04:30am and w..h..y RED HAT? Isn't that Linux OS almost old as Windows 98 or 95? Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is one of the biggest commercial systems out there. The free version is called Fedora. Next big would be SUSE Linux that has a free version simply called OpenSUSE. ![]() |
