Its fun playing around with one and learning to program it as there is a lott you can do with little knowledge and there is also a massive community that helps you along the way should you get stuck . Avoid model a though as it is only 256mb . I have also had some old games running on it with good results . Looking forward to the OUYA thats coming soon which will be way more powerfull once its opened up .

I've got a first edition 256MB model that I got nearly a year ago and a week ago I just got the model B 512MB model. I've over clocked mine to 800 MHz and I plan to buy more Pi's and build a small multi CPU computer.

So far I've got various versions of Linux to run, XBMC, got a wireless mini keyboard, a wifi dongle, and just bought a cable so I can connect the Pi to my own projects. I need a decent screen next.

I've been reading the tutorials on the Adafruit site on Occidentals which is rasbian with library's for making the Pi control things with the GPIO pins. Also reading about SSH and remotely controlling the Pi over the Internet from another computer. ![]() |

I think u can use python very easily to do that, they've got the gpio setup to certain adresses already so it should b too hard. I wanted 1 to creater a server but then I js got busy with work n didn't end up doing it. use any screen even a tv ? hey also try come pid control projects its awesome , I was doing the math on it and the ooomf u get from the arm is amazing and can do pretty much anything.

I can't wait to buy a Pi camera but it seems they can't make them fast enough to fill all the orders so I'm gonna have a long wait...

I built mine into a doorbell, more like missed calls on phone with recorded time and date each time the doorbell is pressed ![]() |

like an answering machine juice ! Except it doesn't actually answer the door, that would be great like a robotic fester ..so plzhug tell me how suited would a raspberry pie be for my aged father or someone with no computing skills

I would be quite a challenge for somebody without any computing skills at all. But if the person has used a PC before than its possible to understand the Pi with a little time put in studying it
