Have used mirc, xchat, chatzilla, miranda, pidgin, irssi. I usually stuck with pidgin, but due to file transferring bugs i'm testing hexchat (basically free of cost xchat for windows) |

I don't bother with them, IRC is just as dated as the old bulletin boards used before the internet was created.

I misunderstood the mokker, he meant probably the things that were called purkki in finland. They had limited connections available like one line only for a phone/dial-up modem to connect to. (They were featured in a local gaming magazine a while back in their retro section)
