Friends will the local mobile company charge the user who downloads java utilities and applications from wap download sites using mobile phone? I know one has to pay the software company for using shareware like reqwireles email viewer.What i want to know is that will the mobile company charge for such downloads other than normal gprs charges . |

To put it simply using wap means your downloading (browsing wapsites, viewing pics etc). With GPRS your charged by how much you've downloaded. On premium content sites you will need to obviously pay for e.g. the app/game as well the regular GPRS costs.

Can any one more details? I am using a unlimited monthly usage plan of fixed charges .I have downloaded some applications from was sites like getjar .is such sites premium or not.how can one know a site is premium or not. There was no information in the sites i downloaded about the cost or any information on they will charge or not.So how will one know which one is free .Please give details .

They are free to download... Unless it says that they charge.. And then it wouldn't let you download without any credit.. It says on wapsites whether or not downloads are free or not.. And most are.. Inbox me if you need any links for free downloads...

Well if you see a price tag, you know its premium content . Usually you pay through Bango, but there are other payment systems.

I heard that some ppl pay for Wap and they pay by the volume of data transferred i.e. A pound per mb of data or whatever.So surely if you start downloading big stuff and lots of it you could use up any free quota fairly quick and then start paying for your Wap access. Or somat like that......paying for Wap or download's Gawd you av 2 laugh...

did u know? that WAP charges how long u stay on so u could do nothing and get charged! and Gprs Charges on how much u download but remember viewing a page is a form of downloading ! u dont have to download a pic moto ur mem card to be charged just simply getting a preview of a pic without downloading it costs!
