I will second what whorl said. android works this way that apps run in background. thats how its meant to be. i remember reading an article by a google android developer and its interpretation in one of tthe leading android blog. why would you need 1 anyways? you dont have a htc phone or a budget android, then you wont need one. you have a sgs right? if yes default task manager is what you need.

go to settings - application - manage application - running (4th). now you can kill unwanted app. or in homescreen long press to bring shortcut - settings (last) - manage application. it will create a shortcut to advanced settings in managing applications which is better than the task manager you access while pressing and holding home b*tton.

@navigato... i'd dare to say i'm advanced user... so basicly i know all about default task manager... but it doesnt fit my need, simple as that... i'm looking for something way more advanced, else i'd keep everything stock and i wouldnt root my phone
