or you could just use an app like Droidwall, blocks internet access per app. great for apps that don't need internet, plus you can choose whether an app uses 3g or WiFi

Will give it a go, thanks abott. Although I already use the built in Android Data Usage app to Restrict Background Data of certain apps.

no not just background data, you choose what has access to internet, give it a go and see.

you can also use 'AFWall' (it's an updated version of DroidWall)

another one you can try is 'Onavo Extend' search for it in the playstore.

Did an update to this app today, slowed down my data connection dramatically, very weird.

I've been using adblock plus for a few days now, and I've been noticing that afwall+ has been deactivated a few times since it's been installed. the reason I've noticed is because ads have been showing up in apps that don't have internet access allowed. is anybody else getting an apparent conflict between these two ?
