@ crail - 5.06.21 - 03:03am So what have you learned from that? Don't use your phone in the bath What's the point in having a waterproof phone if you can't use it in the bath?! I've use my phone in the bath 20yrs. First one I drowned was a Nokia 7650. Since then I put them in zip-seal bags but they too can and did fail at times. |

@ sisfreak2017 - 5.06.21 - 10:14am I think mikey probably has Sunday dinner in the bath. Oh I've always got a buffet on. Fruits, berries, nuts, salami, cheeses, anything that doesn't go soggy. |

Well I know IP65's shower rated. So what are they saying, promoting actual immersion?

IP67 and IP68 mostly differ in terms of the level and period of immersion. Most high end phones these days have IP68 with up to 4 meters in terms of depth and 30mins of immersion. Still I dont think most manufacturers want you to immerse your phone, because this is all just water resistance and not waterproofing. If you plan on going diving or something you are better off getting some sort of waterproof case/cover/plastic bag for your phone. |

@ banbury - 22.02.21 - 10:14pm Yes the 1610 only had incoming SMS. I got the 6600 at launch really nice phone that would love to get hold of one now. The only thing missing was 3G but unfortunately we didnt get that from Nokia untill the 6630 in the Uk, which was a while after those clunky NEC 3G phones from the Three network! Mind you the NEC 606 was a good with the high capacity battery. Must have been a early soft on it or something. Both my 1610 nokias have sms sending also. The 2110 was the phone back then tho. Have 2 of those also in my collection. Both still turn on. Batteries still keep juice in some of them. Something for todays manufacturers to learn from ![]() |
