When I bought this galaxy S7 i dunked it in a sink full of water for 10 mins. God knows why as i sh*t myself when it didn't immediately work after pulling it out (unsubmerging it)? there's a new word!

My s8+ had 10 minutes in the washing machine. Rinsed it off (weird feeling) and it was fine after a bit. The earpiece was quiet for a couple of hours though |

if it fails that's a warranty claim I suppose but I'm still hesitant to go there. did you rip the washing machine door off or switch the machine off ? mopping up the kitchen involved ? |

Switched it off. There was no mopping up required. My alcantatra case smelled of sweaty socks though . Had to wash that too |

I dropped my Nokia 1611 down the bog back in 1996. after hearing the noise I thought jesus that was one hell of a dump not realising it was actually my phone lol it never worked again after that but obviously phones had no IP rating back then. the killer feature on the 1611 over the previous 1610 was two way text messaging.

My missus dropped her 6600 down the toilet. Rinsed it off as well. She got a new screen off ebay for cheap and it was as good as new

Yes the 1610 only had incoming SMS. I got the 6600 at launch really nice phone that would love to get hold of one now. The only thing missing was 3G but unfortunately we didnt get that from Nokia untill the 6630 in the Uk, which was a while after those clunky NEC 3G phones from the Three network! Mind you the NEC 606 was a good with the high capacity battery.

I made my first video call from a mobile phone using an NEC 606 in 2003.
