Nicholson, because he was best.. and the film he was in was better.. ledger was good but greatly overrated cos he died.. also the Nolan films are pretty poor really.. n yes, I realise most of the batman films were worse than Nolan's but the first Burton one was class

Then Heath Ledger... And not because he died, but because he truly was the master at portraying a live action joker.
Nicholson was shyte. The director gave him a s**t incarnation of the joker, too much background was indicated and his notoriety as the clown prince was laughable at best

Oswold cobblepot was an arms dealer looking for a profit whilst using commercial ventures as a mask for his criminal deeds..
In batman returns he was a shady, penguin loving lunatic who conspired to kidnap babies

Still, the Tim Burton movies rank second in the live action films with Nolan's coming first, the 1966 films coming in last and Joel Schumacher's abominations never getting mentioned..

Nolan reinvented the franchise! Batman and Robin killed it off!! He worked wonders for the film and Ledger done a top job! He really mafe the role his own...
