So creative assembly have possibly saved the franchise? I remember many moons ago, the best alien game we had was alien 3 on the 16bit console, extinction on the ps2 or (so I'm told) AvP on the PC... Not a ported version of SEGAs outing but a very much more scary experience. So the game takes its cue from Ridley Scott's 1979 outing, putting the player in the shoes of a defenseless woman with zero combat experience essentially like Ellen Ripley, and the irony being its actually Her daughter, Amanda, who takes up the mantel. |

Set some 16 years after Alien, Amandas journey takes you to Sevastopol, a trading port located in a sparsely populated area of space and thought to be carrying the black box of the Nostromo (the ship destroyed at the end of theAlienmovie). Using this, wetland yutani persuade Amanda to go looking for clues and the truth about what happened to her mother, ttus queuing up events for the game

Looking at this game, it will appeal to the most loyal alien fans and the true gamers. There is no pulse rifles no marines, only you and a truly frightening alien. The fact that you're only up against one as opposed to a battalion of apex killing machines is infinitely more terrifying. It stalks your every move, it can now smell you, hear you, see you with deadly accuracy... Every move you make will be scrutinized and have repercussions. Turn on a flashlight and you risk being seen, run away and you'll be chased.

Armed with only a flashlight and motion tracker, you will be able to create items on the way.at a guess I would imagine distraction tools, melee weapons and upgrades. One cool feature is the ps4 controller will double as a motion tracker with the light flashing green when detecting a blip. Unconfirmed rumours suggest the sound effects will be incorporated into the dual shock 4s speaker, even going as far as to use the six axis to control it. Other rumours suggest the Wii u version will use its GamePad screen as a complete motion tracker.. A neat feature which will. Be lovingly welcome so long as the game isn't affected by the gimmicks

On a personal note, I think SEGA have burnt so many bridges with aliens fans of late, shouldering responsiblity for colonial marines. Alien isolation isn't just a step in this right direction, iis also possibly thirty last chance of salvation in the alien lore. Employing creative assembly for this task seems to of(so far) paid off, but we all know that trailers and gameplay videos can be polished up to look like something it's not.... Killzone 2 stage demo at E3 for example, the 15 minute gameplay video for bioshock infinite that never made it to the game and even more famously, gearbox showing us colonial marines footage which moistened the pants of every true alien fan which looked nothing like the buggy, disgraceful and utterly laughable finished product we were given. So I think its gone beyond a pleading request, its almost a demand borderline threat. Do not let us down this time... But I won't hold my breath

Alien 3 was pretty s**t, play it again. On second thought, just keep the memories. Avp on the jaguar was one of the better ones
