Is that why xbox 360 premium cost 280 quid when it launched in 2005 in the uk and had a GPU inside it that was easily faster than GPUs around only a year before? The core was like 230 right? 7870 is a perfectly reasonable and not at all unrealistic part. Not saying yes, it is exactly a 7870. But it doesn't have to cost a fortune to be reasonably quick...is the point you should take.

Nope it wont happen as that sort of power isnt needed in a console to outperform a gtx680 . Bookmark this page because im telling you now it wont happen

Oh and in 2005 microshoft and sony could take a massive massive loss on each console . Sony were loosing 300 dollars on each machine sold and if you look at the state of there company at the moment a massive loss again could finish them .yes theres the age old argument that they make money on games blah blah blah but the world is a diffrent place financally and they simply can not afford to take a massive hit on each machine .That is why it will be low end stuff

You can't make a console with low end hardware in it outperform a GTX680 and Microsoft didn't take too much of a hit. Sony did because they used CELL and bluray. Microsoft's h*t was not as big and suggested broke even after just a year or so- the losses for them were incurred because of the RROD problems. Xenos was and is ridiculously faster than anything just 7 or 8 months before on PC.

Plus the cards that did come out that could edge it cost as much as the entire machine cost itself. The advantage for consoles in performance and cost lies within the first year. Per actual die at OEM prices then only the very high end stuff is really expesnive. The cost of a card like a 7870 off the shelf is half tax and shipping and profit for retailers and partners.

@ rpd.fire - 17.01.13 - 12:37pm this is about the nextbox not dead pc gaming hmm thats not quite rite now is it... pc gaming was worth over 15 more last year that the xbox and this year the gap will grow again. and when does the xbox go eol? hmmm 2013 the end of the xbox 360... sounds to me your the 1 with the soon to be dead platform that will be born again but will be r*tarded by its very nature not just its owners. the 7670 is a midrange card that is already past its sell by date. pc gaming will be getting the 8***series just as the the 360 breaths its last. |

I have virtually all platforms, so what's your point?

Halo 4 and bioshock infinite both look incredible even at low res . So something say 3 years old in a console when used to its full potential will beat down even the fastest pc hardware |

Its not gonna have a 7870 .It will be a low end part around the power of a 5850 from a few years ago . That much power fully optimized will run rings round anything on pc . |
