Ok im about to sell my Omnia HD and purchase an 3GS next week on orange..... Soooo would some of you be kind enough to point me in the right direction as to what to do when i 1st get it? Obviouslu jailbreaking with blackra1n would be my 1st task. Im hearing about this teathered and unteathered stuff. Is it still happening? Or has this been sorted out with a new blackra1n release? |

Also what are the 'do's and dont's of the 3GS? What are the must have and essential apps as well. Plus im hearing that when the 3GS is jailbroken it lowers the battery life by 20 per cent, is this true? Or just bull.

And one more thing is there an app in which i can have an alphanumeric keyboard for sending texts? I have a feeling is gonna take me a hella long time to get used the QWERTY keyboard seeing as i have fat fingers :P and also is there an app which enables delivery reports? Or does the 3GS have this already? Im on vodafone so this is kinda essential for me. Safe for any help given :)))

You could try reading the topics that already exist. Blackrain one for instance as well as the hackulous and appulous and apps posts.

As Dani says there us loads of topics already that will answer your questions. As for the jailbreak you will have to go tethered until somebody releases untethered for the new bootrom

blkromeo...The keyboard will be displaying alphabets, tap a button to see numbers and symbols, anyway the the iphone dictionary and auto correct is so amazing that you might realize that its easier to type full proper words than use SMS shortforms. I am not sure about the delivery reports app, i dont get delivery reports but maybe some other uses can clarify this for you. Regarding DVDs, due to the iphones popularity, almost every dvd conversion app will now have an iphone conversion option.

Tho if you have done conversions bfore then just the info like the iphone resolution and supported formats and the highest supported video bitrate should be all u need for dvd conversions. Once converted, you can add them to itunes for syncing.
