My iPhone is through mtn. I get 250mbs with the contract but have to buy a 1gb bundle which lasts me the month. Just join wifi networks where u can. And if u have Internet at home I'd recommend adding wifi so that the phone can use that.

Most smartphones these days are data hungry.. if you concerned bout data. Turn Mobile data off and swwitch on when you need it. Thats if you dont use apps that depend on data. Like WhatsApp, etc..

I started to use internet on my iPhone 4 yesterday sothat I could create an Apple I'd. I had 127mb of data. Even web-based applications are more than 20mb on AppStore. How is that possible cos you still have to download again which would consume more data.

And this Safari browser. 10mb is consumed in a few minutes just by only browsing the internet. Are there any tips on saving data when browsing?

You guys simply shouldn't have bought the iPhone or any smartphone for that matter of you're worried about 10 Mb data. Most of the features on smartphones are over internet connection.

Iphone and all smartphones nowadays takes alot of data, data is even running in the background so if your worried about 10 mb just stick to a less capable phone lol its a data age ;) just saying and smartphones browser do just the same as PC browsers, flash media, javascripts, gps locationt etc...everythings loads as if on PC

there is always weblock app which blocks all adds, or can block javascript and images and so on. That may help you save data
