Ppl shld buy more music coz it cn take hundreds of thousands of dollars 2 make a single album, paying producer, songwriter, composition n other licencing n publication fees. That money needs 2 b recouped wit sales n make a profit on top of dat.

Downloading may be the future, but not until mp3s get replaced with a format of higher bitrate. It's gonna be a few years before Internet connections are at a standard where everyone can download large files quickly, but we're getting there. When i do download or rip CDs to mp3, I always make sure they're at 320kbit to minimize the sound loss

And I still pay for tunes, if I like something then I'll support the artist. As a producer myself it can be hard to make any money off tracks, especially if it's a specific genre like some genres of dance. Even a small amount of money can help us to invest in equipment to make better tracks. Good equipment and software doesn't come cheap

Ive started buying tracks off linn records. They mainly specialise in jazz, country, folk and classical and acoustic recordings. You can get them at extremely high bit rates up to 192khz at 24bits in the studio master flac format. Thats four times higher than a standard CD, so you are getting an extremely high quality recording that just as it left the studio.

An album in studio master flac format will set you back around 18.00GBP and upto around 2gigs worth to download so you do pay a premium but it sounds fantastic when played on supporting hardware. They do offer lower bitrate downloads too. Theres cd and vinyl too which they say they take extreme care in the production of these.
