out of boredom and a little curiousity decided to ask this question. we all know both bands kickass, Sepultura's pre-roots stuff with Max is a masterpiece, stuff like Arise, Schizophrenia, Morbid visions, Chaos A.D. beneath the remains etc and Slayer has released some of the most amazing thrash records especially reign in blood, south of heaven, seasons in the abyss, Show no Mercy Hell Awaits etc so who's your pick? |

a matter of taste, mel, a matter of taste :) to me power metal and malmsteenish solos are stupid, over-masturb*ted and dusgusting, but hey, a matter of taste :)

2 different sounding bands? both of the bands were pretty much thrash, There's nothing wrong with comparing two bands who's older work sound similar, especially in terms of heaviness in the thrash metal scene ![]() |

vampboy, nah, see how me sees it is that every band produce their own musics according to no standards. Ofcourse since youre young, its understandable that u compare s**t, trying to put up your top list and s**t like that - its normal, but you will grow out of it, believe me ;) musicians make music not to be greatest or the best ect, they express themselves, simply that. so how do u actually compare them? thats a lil shtupid aint it? anyways,, just enjoy the music and listen to your elders! mwah

actually not every band make music to be expressive or have no standards, but to simply make money or under pressure, (I suppose someone as wise as you have heard of record labels forcing bands to make music according to their own will) also many bands strive to be greater than the other in the competetive music world, that's only natural which is why fans support their favourite bands and often comparisons are made and thanks for discriminating me based on my age, but apparently it doesn't take a 5 year old to know you generalized everything here, but that's Okay, age doesn't bring wisdom

I'm either joking or dissing modern day rappers like lil Wayne when I speak of rap. I actually often enjoy listening to Tu pac, B.I.G, Ice cube and some other artists from time to time, some old school hip hop is pretty good, I'm no elitist lol

Speaking of which Slayer's collaboration with Ice T was fantastic and some bands combining elements of rap with metal are quite good, Biohazard comes in mind ![]() |

when sep 1st appeared on the scene, slayer would childishly call them s**t in every interview they did.. it was quite funny that they obviously felt threatened by such a newcomer.

Well in all fairness It was Sepultura who started it, they called slayer fascist neo-n.a.z.i.s in various interviews because of their tracks like angel of death, Behind the crooked cross and ss-3..Slayer retaliated by calling them (not sure about the exact words) but something like sepultura and Max being c.ock sucking losers from Brazil.. Ironically Max himself claims Angel of death is his favorite track and he played it several times in live shows from what I remember.

@ 3mel - 5.01.13 - 07:58am Sepultura are just better, slayer guitar solos are stupid. Slayer's guitar solos are stupid? I can name many tracks by them now with most amazing solos I have ever heard of in the thrash metal scene like the Antichrist solo, South Of Heaven, Seasons In The Abyss... etc etc |
