Think you mean land of grey and pink pandy lol i agree caravan were top prog although with a poppier sound, that last 20 odd min organ suite song is just brilliant. Cressida, nektar and england were obscure but great bands.

Ayreon are fantastic, how he gets so many established singers and musicians to play on his albums is staggering, devin townsend, fish, bruce d*ckenson, mike baker, james le brie, mikael akerfeldt, russell allen. He even has the reclusive Dan Swano sing with allen, damien wilson and floor jansen on his Star one side project. And ed warby from gorefest on drums.

Spocks beard, which albums out of curiousity? The current line up without neal morse are terrible, but some of their earlier stuff like day for night is enjoyable, just simple rock in complex arrangement with morse harmonising his own vocals. The intro for gibberish is a perfect example.

@lusephur - I bought two Spocks Beard albums on the same day: 'Feel Euphoria' and 'Snow'. Whilst it was obvious that they were very competent musicians, the lack of any ambition, excitement or indeed, direction made listening to both an enervating and depressing experience. Exchanged them for Aphexs 'Druqs' and Funki Porcinis 'Hed phone sx'.. Result! ![]() |

I enjoyed snow even though it was a veiled attempt to recreate a story of christ. But yes feel euphoria was cr*p, best thing about that album was the label sample cd i got with it. Leftoverture is indeed a classic especially the opening track carry on wayward son. Check out Proto Kaw it's a new band formed by the original members of kansas. Anyone hear Sieges Even's art of navigating by the stars?

Or has anyone heard possibly one of the best prog rock albums in recent years The Music That Died Alone by The Tangent. Or the two albums by polish band Riverside, shades of opeth, anathema, pink floyd and porcupine tree. Or new english hopefuls Pure Reason Revolution?
