@ cleancut - 11.01.20 - 07:56pm I went to watch star wars the other day too and it was very disappointing a real let down. 1917 is good though if you live near a cinema I don't see the disappointment It was fulllll of action which I wanted That showdown could've been better. Should've been more emotionally attached. That sort of thing. Well you could say it was 'rushed' like the final season of GoT. Well Star Wars was meant to be a 'trilogy of trilogies' from the beginning. Media complained about Solo: A Star Wars Story, I liked it Also, the older lead characters were dropping dead left, right and centre and so they had to improvise |

But no Yoda Okay, I agree a let down. The 'Force' could've been depicted in a much more emphatic way. It's Star Wars 101 |

Watched Jumanji: The Next Level in 3D Now have 6 tickets to watch two 2D movies for free (one of them could be 1917 - I want to check out that 'all-in-1 scene' take) I only watch 3D movies at the cinema as 2D movies I can do at home. |

@ cleancut - 11.01.20 - 07:56pm I went to watch star wars the other day too and it was very disappointing a real let down. 1917 is good though if you live near a cinema I read a survey somewhere last week. They asked a crowd who had just watched the new Star Wars what they thought of it. It seems the folk who were disappointed, had gone there with the highest expectations and already had a preconceived idea of how the movie was gonna go. Everybody else who just went to see it for what it was, we're more than happy with it. The lass who wrote 1917, comes from just down the road from me... |

Found it... Hate Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? It may have more to do with your unrealistic expectations than the movie, according to scientists A group of researchers from The Ohio State University recently set out to examine why recent Star Wars movies have stoked such divisive feelings among audiences. The team surveyed a group of 441 moviegoers both during the release window of Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2017. They found that those who reported the most negative feelings about the movie after seeing it had also been those who had reported the highest expectations. |

The team used Amazons Mechanical Turk to recruit the subjects and asked them to participate in a brief interview about their feelings toward the movie before its release. The subjects were asked to use a 7-point scale to estimate how happy, sad, and nostalgic they expected the movie to make them. Three weeks later, the researchers conducted follow-up interviews to see who in the survey had gone to see the movie during that time. Interestingly, nostalgia seemed to be a more accurate predictor of who among the subjects would go see the movie, more reliable than those who expected the movie would make them happy. Among those who had actually seen the movie after three weeks, a majority of around 55 percent failed to accurately predict their own responses to the film. Those who had the most negative overall impression of it were those whod had the highest expectations for how happy it would make them feel. People whod had the lowest overall expectations for the movie often ended up reporting intensely positive feelings from their viewing experience. |

Watched Memory on telly with Billy Zane First time I've seen him with hair on. Invincible (2001) was what I remember him in. Oh, he also was in Titanic and BloodRayne. Must watch that DVD. |
