@ mab21 - 23.11.14 - 06:38am Yup I believe things happen for a reason but not everything. You know in your heart when there was a reason. Thank you. I have to believe I was there at a time when I normally wouldn't have been.. |

@ 3mel - 23.11.14 - 06:35am don't get me wrong, I'm familiar with that concept. it's said that once a person/soul/consciousness has committed to the path of enlightenment, it takes 500 lifetimes of suffering and learning to reach the state of a divine being. however I just don't think those are the terms folks have in mind when they bandy this kind of stuff around. the phrase is, everything happens for a reason. it's true in that I scratched my leg because it was itchy, or that I got up because my bladder was full. I don't think it's true when used in terms of fate though. free will and choice are big components in life's mystery. we reap what we have sown. it's not as though all of us have chosen a path of spiritual development, so the phrase is kinda dangerous. an excuse to over simplify events and avoid suffering as opposed to learning from it (assuming that was even possible). I agree |

@ shychic2 - 23.11.14 - 05:30am That everything happens for a reason? Do you believe that? i am not sure if I did but after thinking about the week I've had. I've been looking at things differently. Yes, everythin does happen for a reason..m the reason is stupid choices... Other ppls actions nd choices that then affect u. Those are the reasons things happen, not some higher power steerin us nd our lives. |

@ shychic2 - 23.11.14 - 06:41am Thank you. I have to believe I was there at a time when I normally wouldn't have been.. that sounds like intuition reading between the lines. like the sudden idea to go into the kitchen, just in time it turns out to stop them pulling a boiling hot pan off the stove. a kind of inner voice that breaks through when really needed ? is that what you meant ? |
