Anyone that knows about shares?? I got 250 free shares frm where i work when we became a publicly traded company, n the holding period is coming up on 27th of nov, i would have 2 pay tax on them selling them now coz its only been 3yrs rather than 5 but there worth 3.95 a share atm, 3yrs ago they were worth 1.75 a share..... So question is do i sell (and if my colleagues all have same idea and they sell will share price drop?? ... Or do i keep em n hope we get better share prices |

yes the share price will drop if/when your colleagues sell, so if your going to hold on to them then plan on keeping them for another year or 2 at the very least.

I'd check out the highest price they have ever been and the lowest and work it from there, it depends how many colleges I guess a few wouldn't be a problem but obviously if the whole company has the same idea

The money would come in handy coz i generally JUST get by but im used 2 it so im not despo for money plus my dad helps me n my son out n ive already bought all xmas prezzies .... Im thinkin all my colleagues might b thinkin of sellin coz we'd get it in decembers pay

Well i work for car insurance , n this is probly the highest its been, we used b under rbs insurance but afta all the bank s**t we bought ourselves out n r building up, were a biiiig company so literally Maybe 10,000 plus employees i would of thought got these shares

Money is always handy, from what you have said about the prices I'd probably wait it out, if all goes well I want 5 percent, if it doesn't I'll settle for 3 percent

It is impossible for anybody to answer this without more information on the company you work for and various other details that I would strongly advise you not to disclose to strangers on a public forum.

Tempting to cash in but I would imagine insurance companies shares stay pretty up on the market so its an investment for you if you hold on. Can you get me a good deal on my car insurance then?? Lol
