I think the ones that release footage after the conviction are very good ....lots of amateurs just f.uck it up though leaving them to offend again

@ 3mel - 2.08.18 - 01:28pm what is it about for the guys involved, they could do all that they do, even document the event for legal purposes but just not upload it for views. would going without being lauded and praised change it for some of them ? on the other hand those Geordie guys had well over 60 arrests and convictions a couple of years back. hard to argue they've made a positive contribution. I suppose it's precisely because they are doing it to entertainment people that makes it kinda weird for me. Who is the intended audience and why do they enjoy watching it? Again, raising awareness of the dangers and promoting child safety is one thing, blatant pandering to paranoid obsessive types, playing on their emotions to stoke anger and fear and resentment and suspicion and turning it into a spectator sport for your own self promotion, is quite another. I keep seeing people talking about 'Project Fear' a lot recently, I would say there is more than a little of that going on here in one way or another. Keeping the people scared of things is an effective tool with which to manipulate and control them. God's, Peadophiles, Immigrants, all used to terrify people into submission. |

paedophiles are the guys it's OK to hate, maybe some take pleasure in watching them have their worlds come crashing down around them ?

bit random, but no, I take no pleasure in watching a stranger suffer (even a wretched vile one). if I did know them my feelings might get the better of me for a short while, but not for anything gratuitous. |

Makes you wonder why that Tommy Robinson got locked up. Exposing the wrong pead*philes? Clearly.

@ shadow27 - 2.08.18 - 04:25pm Makes you wonder why that Tommy Robinson got locked up. Exposing the wrong pead*philes? Clearly. well now that's just a very silly comparison... tho I don't agree with these shows they are about ppl being caught in the act... not alleged paedofiles who are being tried... but I still think there shows shouldn't be allowed |

Well its pretty much the same thing. People view stuff out of mirbit fascination I guess |

contempt of court because there was supposed to be a reporting black out on the case that the judge had ordered. he's only out because the judge didn't go about giving him a chance to prepare a defence correctly. @shadow |

Any that I have seen are just trying to be heroes and want the 'good guy' recognition. I think it should be illegal. Definitely illegal to show on tv or online. |

They have caught and had a fair few convicted. I do feel for some of the families though who aren't involved but the person lives with them. Their houses get smashed up and graffiti on the doors.

I don't think they should post footage of it. There was one caught near me who lived with his disabled dad and a load people went round his house to terrorise him

Anyone can research and find these a**holes, but I think all the confronting them should be left to the police, and they can pass on info if they wish to them. and forget about making a show about it. I don't see who that benefits.

gotta admit I'm a big fan of Mista GG on YouTube. much of his content is reviewing episodes of dateline's To Catch A Predator, but doing so from a comedy angle. as improbable as that sounds he makes it work http://youtu.be/IpQxr4NaPlc |

@ obi_jon - 2.08.18 - 01:28pm Vigilance is one thing and a good one at that, however, Vigalantism is another thing entirely and definitely not a good one. I believe that this sort of thing only encourages vigilantism, even if it is being done with the very best of intentions. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-43201269 |

@ obi_jon - 1.09.18 - 12:08pm http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-43201269 Id like to know the full story like how they came to getting the wrong guy because normally the guys are pretty thorough that they have the right man. Some paedophile hunters turned up to this site ive been working on in Spalding the other week to grab one off the lads. I wasnt there at the time but apparently it was quite a scene |

@ say.what - 1.09.18 - 02:33pm When they post it after conviction it's all good.. If it serves as a deterrent win/win With the amount of videos that get plastered all over fb these days im suprised they still turn up to atrempt to meet the child. Like surely they must have it in the back of their mind its going to be a paedo hunter. Infact ive seen a couple videos where the paedo admits they even watch the sting videos |

I wasnt there at the time but apparently it was quite a scene I thought he was whiteknighting for a cum dumpster on fecesbook ?. There was no 'right man'. He was just throwing mud until some stuck. It's a common technique used by manginas. |
