@ trunking - 13.01.21 - 03:19pm China is doing much better than us, technology-wise One conglomeration of companies decided to install fibre optic cables all of JHB a few years back, employing thousands.. It all paid off. JHB most advanced city in Africa as of current But Lagos, I here.. The inter-continental telecommunication hub and fibre optic network runs through there.. Via Satellite here. 5G inter-telecomunication Did you see those handheld PC console; Gpd win? Made in China and I was stunned by how that portable device played some triple A games with an average of 60 fps. You're definitely right about China dominating the technology market more and more. Isn't 5G already the next big thing there anyway? |

My graphics card is an RTX 2060 which plays games 1080 HD with complete ease averaging 60 to 90 FPS at high settings. Great great. But they just released RTX 3060, 3070, 3080 and 3090 and it already tops the PS5 in terms of performance and the sheer quality of its ray tracing and ability to play 4k in ultra settings. It's just insane how rapidly the game market is developing.

There may be undersea fibre optic cables under construction, or in the works, from Brazil to our country's West Coast but that will require too much, monetary.. physical labour due to the vast distances West Africa has the infrastructure and network via trans-Atlantic fibre optic network.. we don't. Only valid via satellite. I'm sure there's one huge 5G hub that feeds JHB, my city's fibre optic network infrastructure Only way we can get speeds over 100 MB/s for the average household |

I did have 5G here for a week through a local company called 'Rain' but my brother complained about the limitation on video streaming capped at 5mb/s on their affordable deal (though DL speeds were 28mb/s).. he wants to watch Netflix in 4K so thought stuff it.. it may have affected online gaming too We went back to fibre.. 20 MB/s all inclusive Previous fibre was 8mb/s all inclusive but was pretty affordable |
