I remember when i was young waiting for conker shells to fall down get a buzz at opening them . Some had 2 the odd 1 had 3 . They came in different shapes and sizes . Then id bag them up take them home make a hole put them in the oven then vinegar to toughen up the skin. Then put a piece of string through the hole then do battle with others . Oh what times they were |

People used to tell you different think to make them harder. Bake them, soak em in vinegar etc

I found a conker shaped stone with a hole in painted it up to look conkerish and became the unconkerd! Had To Paint It Regularly Tho |

I have a Horse Chestnut tree in my garden, its a fkn nuicence! It needs cutting down but my neighbours like its shape and leafs . This year I've drilled a 30mm dia hole diagonally about a foot into it and filled it up witg pickling paste and copper. If it kills it my neighbours won't mind me cutting it down.
