@ 3mel - 12.07.20 - 04:28pm political correctness started in the 80s dude. I know about its origin but the fact that it started to take off just a few years ago is obvious tho. |

@ ogdenz - 12.07.20 - 04:09pm What's wrong with being politically correct anyway? 'PC' is the term right wing bigots and stupid/ignorant/arrogant people use to describe what normal people call 'being polite and/or respectful to others'. |

@ obi_jon - 12.07.20 - 04:34pm 'PC' is the term right wing bigots and stupid/ignorant/arrogant people use to describe what normal people call 'being polite and/or respectful to others'. If it only had anything to do with politeness Its as much of a turd wrapped in sugar than all that hate speech thing is. Its just used to cancel out other opinions. Mostly used by ppl who win arguments by screaming in your face. |

@ alvar89 - 12.07.20 - 04:30pm It has alot to do with politics. The leftwing is using it as a weapon against anyone opposing them. Bernie and some others were just mauled by there own who they tried to appease. Just as J.K. Rowling was. You have a way of deflecting everything i see. No group has no responsibility or they dont excist at all lol. right wingers use it too, from students trying to get professors sacked right thru to trump trying use his office to defund city and state budgets because he doesn't like what he thinks they're doing. trump wanting to get rid of Ivy League schools because he thinks they teach people ideas he like is the ultimate manifestation of cancel culture. let's hear you condemn that if you're not a hypocrite. people are individuals, should I be thinking of all right wingers as one group with one mind ? no obviously that's stupid, likewise when you try to do it with individuals on the left. |

They also seem to see the term ''Do Gooders'' as a negative.

@ ogdenz - 12.07.20 - 04:40pm They also seem to see the term ''Do Gooders'' as a negative. along with virtue signalling, maybe it's trying to make other people's lack of a moral vacuum into a pejorative, to move attention away from their inadequacies in these areas. ''how can people care about others who aren't from their own tribe or group, it must just be for show because that's not how I feel...'' |

There is a broad spectrum between left and right tho. The ones in the middle are just labelled as right wing because they dont agree with the left also. I dont know what these schools are about to say anything but i have not seen ppl on the right screaming into pplls face and signing petitions to cancel ppl off. Have not seen them gathering into riots and looting either were ppl get shot to death and beaten up either. Ever since trump got into office these ppl started rebelling everywhere. They dont accept him as a elected president either. They dont seem to believe in democracy lol. |

''how can people care about others who aren't from their own tribe or group, it must just be for show because that's not how I feel...'' Indeed. Also pejorative is the word I was looking for! |

''how can people care about others who aren't from their own tribe or group, it must just be for show because that's not how I feel...'' You two are completely missing the point here. The problem is its sarcastic. They know these ppl virtue signal to get attention and are do gooders in a sense to just show off. Basically fake ppl that is the thing. They have nothing against ppl who are helpful or charitable. |
