@ ogdenz - 31.12.19 - 03:25pm In my opinion yes. Sadly that means nobody would benefit but there ya go. There should have been no proviso on the offer to help. Would have agreed with that until recently. Now I think their money, their choice and it's helping poor kids out. |

Think any demographic in society will feel as though they are being mistreated and not given a fair chance, if wasn't black children, it would be gays or trangenders, instead of focusing on the positive aspects of what is being done like giving a child an opportunity to receive a decent education..

Without having bothered to check and with absolutely no intention of doing so, perhaps Stormzy didn't actually attach any ethnic selection criteria to the money he donated, which the other chap seems to have done.

@ 9362 - 31.12.19 - 03:17pm As Sir Bryan himself has said if Stormzy can do the same for poor black kids, why can't I do the same for poor white kids? He can help poor white kids, he just can't help only poor white kids. He could at least consider helping other poor kids as well, be they black or otherwise. |

He hasnt offered to sponsor white kids but offered a bursary that could only be spent on white kids. If he actually sponsored the white kids it wouldnt be a problem and thats actually what Stormzy did do isnt it?

Stormzy specified his money could only be used for black kids, so it is the same thing |

Well, the rules should be the same for everyone, so i'm guessing there must be something in the way in which Stormzy is donating his money, that allows him to do it but not the other guy. Possibly, If Stormzy is awarding scholarships through a charitable foundation he has set up specifially to help black kids then that could be allowed somehow but because the other chap is giving money to the school directly, the school then can't accept the money under the condition that it must only give it to white kids. If the charity is selecting who they are helping, not the school. |
