I don't get why vegans and vegetarians eat at McDonald's as they are still giving profits to a company that is responsible for slaughtering millions of animals.

That's a good point. Though if you're strict on your ethics, it must be pretty difficult to work your way around, whilst only dealing with those who conform.

Meat tastes nice, not many people would argue with that. It's instinctive I suppose but it's the cruelty and suffering that most people would go vegan for I imagine. Maybe health reasons too. But the only argument meat eaters can make is the taste, it's absolutely selfish really. Lab grown meat should be cheap and identical to the real stuff then problem solved. Unless it's the cruelty you're getting off on of course

@ 9362 - 4.01.20 - 12:48am They introduced the vegan sausage roll about a year back, been extremely successful The marketing/advertisement people have made the word 'vegan' cool enough to sell 'vegan friendly' products to pretend/non-vegans. I'm mostly in agreement with Bill Hicks in my regards to said marketing/advertisement people. |

Unless it's the cruelty you're getting off on of course I think the most ethical meat farming option is the other way. For it to be edible, it has to be a full, proper animal. With feelings. Nothing horrifies me more on the subject than animals being in a factory environment for longer than necessary. They should have a life. Out in the sun, in the open, enjoying the land, and for a worthwhile lifetime. Slaughter should be unexpected, and quick. Preferably when asleep. |

I wouldn't be surprised if a 'vegan steak bake' was just a rebranded vegetarian pasty, made with some sort of vegan pastry.(easy enough to replace the milk and butter with non-animal alternatives, not sure about the egg bit though tbh). I can't imagine there'd be a whole lot of difference in production costs between the two versions, but I suspect they'd probably charge more for the vegan one. |
