I was under the impression that this was already the case. I'm pretty sure i've read notices pinned up in NHS hospital waiting rooms that have said and I can't recall the exact wording but something along the lines of 'Abuse towards NHS personnel/staff will not be tolerated. Abusive patients will be asked to leave the hospital and the police may be called to remove them if they refuse to do so.'

My local hospital has private security as well as police. A lot of the private security seem to be ex gurkha soldiers. Wouldn't mess with those guys
