Boots, John Lewis announcing big job losses. Burger King looking at closing many more. Substantial Rolls Royce cuts. As well as thousands of job cuts announced in the last couple of weeks. Are we heading for 3 million unemployed? |

Brexit has little to do with it.... Got to look at the switch to online shopping as well for the likes of John Lewis. Rolls Royce is down to the collapse of the aviation industry

I didn't say it was brexit related, rather that at the end of this year we could have the no deal brexit businesses have been saying will be disastrous for them on top what we're seeing now, and that's why figures could continue to rise.

Absolutely devastating for those losing their jobs. I read earlier that Boots are registered in the USA so as they don't have to make their tax affairs public. I also read Boots charge the NHS over 3000 pounds for a cancer relief drug (a mouthwash) that normally sells for 93 pounds. Perhaps such greed isn't the best strategy after all? |

That , as the yanks would say , is the price of the bride , HMG can't save every failing company and nor should it

Same as Debenhams, outdated business models that would almost certainly fail anyway
